Alternative MPVs

When looking to buy a new MPV it is easy to get swayed by what surveys are telling you about which one is the best buy and sometimes it can be scary thinking outside the box when looking for a new car. But if you do, you might get rewarded, especially if you combine this lateral thinking with some research into what your chosen car will provide.

In the MPV category firm favourites amongst car buyers are the Nissan Qashqai and the Ford S-Max. They both score consistently high on user satisfaction surveys and also compare well in industry lead reviews.  But there are other options out there. One of these is the Ford Galaxy which is closely related to the Ford S-Max. It comes with a roomy and versatile cabin and excellent road handling abilities. The Galaxy costs more than the Ford S-Max but for that extra money you get lots more equipment and price wise it compares with the Renault Espace and the Chrysler Grand Voyager.

Another option if you want to consider something alternative is the Toyota Verso which is a cheaper option than then Galaxy. It’s less roomy than the Galaxy but then it is a more compact car. It’s also very frugal for an MPV when it comes to fuel consumption something which might be of importance in these economic harder times. It also emits less CO2 than many of its competitors.

So if you’re in the market for an MPV why not consider something different such as a Toyota Verso or a Ford Galaxy. Scotland is one part of Britain where you’ll find lots of helpful dealerships.

Can a used ECH Unit for a Renault Espace (2001 model) be recoded if I put it in my car?

Two garages say it can, Renault dealer says it can’t, another Renault dealer says it can, and parts dealer says it can’t and then tried to sell me a new part.
Think the relay might have gone on the board because wipers were staying on. Anyone know how to check relay?
Thanks for that. I take it that board can be repaired if relay is gone by putting a new relay in it? Trying to find an electronics repair firm in my area (county Clare, Ireland) but no luck so far.
Anyone out there know where I can take it?

Sorry but the unit can not be over written, the ech are built using a once only write type chipset, I work for a Nissan dealer and we sell Primastar vans which are Renault Traffic’s and we have had untold amount of problems with electronics and units, the ech acts as a distribution module and it’s security linked and once coded to a vehicle, that’s it!!
Hope this helps.
